New License Application Process
- Apply via MOI eServices (eservices.moi.gov.kw) → Traffic → Issue Private Driving License. Or visit your governorate Traffic Department in person with all documents.
- Submit required documents and pay the application fee (~KD 5). Receive a driving education permit allowing you to train legally.
- Pass a medical fitness test at a MOI-approved medical center — includes vision test and general physical examination. Cost: approximately KD 3–5.
- Enroll at a MOI-approved driving school. Complete the mandatory theory training sessions and practical driving lessons. Cost: KD 50–150 depending on school and lessons needed.
- Pass the QMC Computer Theory Test — 40 questions on Kuwait traffic laws and road signs. Minimum pass score: 30/40 (75%). Available in English and Arabic. Test is held at the driving school.
- Book and pass the practical driving test via MOI eServices. The examiner will test you on a designated route — parking, lane discipline, signals and road rules.
- Pay the license issuance fee (KD 5) + printing fee (KD 10). Total printing and issuance: KD 15.
- Collect your Kuwait driving license card from the Traffic Department or an authorized collection kiosk. Valid for 5 years.
The cost of getting a new driving license in Kuwait depends on your driving lessons, tests, and other required services.
